Child Care Services (Kids Care)

Located in low-income housing communities, PICD provides school-aged child care programs that gives parents the opportunity to have high quality, affordable before/after school and summer programs. Parents whose children are under our care pay a fraction of the price they would at other centers. Rates are based solely on a family’s income.

All centers have state-of-the-art wireless computers labs and are focused on educational goals including “bridging the digital divide” so children who may not have access to computers at home, do have them before and after school. Programs also include play, fun and positive interaction.

Our staff turnover is extremely low because we are able to pay them at a higher rate than other centers. This is because we carry no overhead. Higher wages lead to higher staff satisfaction and more consistency with the kids. Our staff to child ratio (at 1 to 6) is significantly lower than other child care facilities (normally 1 to 10). This extra attention positively reinforces the educational, fun and developmental goals.

Our Centers are very accommodating with parents who work extended hours. We currently open at 5:30am for a parent who works an early shift and stay open until 6:30pm to accommodate parents who are working later.
